يعمل ليفربول على حسم مصير أحد لاعبيه على الرغم من انطلاق منافسات الموسم الجديد، والذي قد ارتبط بالانضمام لصفوف ريال مدريد لحل أزمة خط الدفاع.

وأصبح ليفربول والمدافع الفرنسي إبراهيما كوناتي في مفترق طرق، بعد أن دخل صاحب الـ 26 عاماً عامه الأخير من عقده ومن المرجح أن يسعى ريال مدريد لضمه.

ويحصل كوناتي بموجب عقده الحالي مع ليفربول على 70 ألف جنيه إسترليني أسبوعياً، ويسعى الفرنسي للحصول على راتب أعلى بكثير ويسعى لعقد جديد بقيمة 200 ألف جنيه إسترليني أسبوعياً.

وقد شعر كوناتي بخيبة أمل من العروض الأولية من جانب ليفربول لتجديد عقده، حيث طالب ممثلوه بزيادة راتب أساسي مضمونة بدلاً من هيكل يعتمد بشكل كبير على الحوافز والمكافآت المرتبطة بالأداء.

ورغم بعض المخاوف بشأن لياقة كوناتي البدنية في المواسم الماضية إلا أنه كان متاحاً في أوقات كثيرة تحت قيادة المدرب آرني سلوت حيث شارك في 92.5% من إجمالي الدقائق المتاحة مع ليفربول في الموسم الماضي.

وبحسب الصحفي البريطاني “ديفيد أوكوب”، فإن ليفربول يسعى لتمديد عقد اللاعب قبل إغلاق سوق الانتقالات الصيفية، ويريد النادي أن يحسم الفرنسي أمره قبل إغلاق سوق الانتقالات.

ويريد ليفربول أن يضمن مستقبل كوناتي ولا يريد أن يتحول الوضع إلى ملحمة خلال الموسم كما حدث مع المصري محمد صلاح ورفاقه الموسم الماضي.

Uganda captain happy with their death bowlingDespite the heavy defeat, Uganda captain Brian Masaba took heart from their comeback with the ball in the death overs after the early assault from Gurbaz and Ibrahim. It was the first instance of a team not conceding a single boundary in the last six overs of a men’s T20 World Cup innings. Masaba and seamer Cosmas Kyewuta shared four wickets between them to tie down Afghanistan’s middle-order hitters.”That’s a huge bonus for us. In a T20 game, very often the game can go very quickly in the last five overs,” Masaba said. “Especially considering the fact that we are under the pump for most of the innings. So to come back like that and restrict them the way we did, it’s a huge bonus for us. We’ll look to carry that into our games going forward.”
