Loads of Sunderland fans have been discussing the future of manager Jack Ross, with some even calling for his head if they cannot secure promotion this season.

It’s been a funny old season for Sunderland fans, as the despair of relegation was somewhat quashed by the hope on offer from new owner and chairman Stewart Donald.

Donald, along with Ross, has united the club and its fans once more and created a genuine sense of optimism around the Stadium of Light for the first time in a long time.

It hasn’t all been plain sailing though, and a run of draws around the turn of the year has left the door open for Barnsley to swoop in and steal that second automatic promotion spot, presuming Luton Town don’t completely collapse in the closing stages of the campaign.

Most of those draws came from a problem Ross is clearly struggling with as a young manager, getting that second goal and putting the game to bed; 1-1 draws have unfortunately become his speciality.

The Checkatrade Trophy final defeat was yet another example of this as he sat back to preserve a 1-0 lead. It of course did not work, and plenty of fans are having their say on his role in the dugout…

أكد ديفيد مويس مدرب فريق وست هام على تزايد مقدار الثقة في النادي، وذلك بعد التعادل المثير الذي حققوه في مباراة اليوم مع فريق توتنهام في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وتواجه الفريقان، في الجولة الخامسة من البطولة، حيث تعادلا بثلاثة أهداف لمثلهم.

وقال ديفيد مويس، في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “بي بي سي” العالمية: “ما حدث جيد جدًا، إنها واحدة من اللحظات التي لا تحدث كثيرًا في كرة القدم، في مرحلة ما كنت تقول إلى أي مدى يمكن أن يحدث هذا؟”.

وأضاف: “لم أكن أعتقد أننا لعبنا بشكل سيء في الشوط الأول، هذا ما قلته للاعبين بين الشوطين، وأحيانًا تشعر أنه يتعين عليك القيام بشيء ما، لم نفعل ذلك، وقمنا بإجراء تغييرات لاحقًا، وبالتأكيد أحدث ذلك فرقًا كبيرًا”.

وأضاف: “الخطة كانت ألا نخسر بـ 4-0، قلنا إذا سجلنا هدفًا سنرى ما سيحدث، إنها ثقة متزايدة لدينا في وست هام في الوقت الحالي، لقد أهدرنا بعض الفرص اليوم، الأداء الجيد حقًا من اللاعبين ساعدنا على تحقيق ما فعلناه”.

وواصل: “اعتقدنا أننا لعبنا بشكل جيد، كرة القدم كانت جيدة، وهددناهم، نحن نلعب ضد فريق يتحدث عنه الجميع وبعد 10 دقائق كنت أفكر هل سيستمر الأمر إلى أن يتقدموا في النتيجة بستة أو سبعة، لقد تغيرنا وجعلنا ذلك أفضل”.

وتابع: “احتفالي؟ لقد رأيتموه للتو، أعرف شخصًا آخر ركض وانزلق على خط التماس، لذلك لن أقوم بتكرار ذلك”.

واختتم: “منذ عودتنا من فترة التوقف، كنا فريقًا مختلفًا تمامًا، نستمر في تسجيل الأهداف، لكننا بحاجة للعودة إلى الحفاظ على نظافة شباكنا”.

After a week that saw the England international linked with a move to Manchester United and manager Manuel Pellegrini admit Rice could be sold for a price, the Hammers youngster has reassured fans (quotes sourced from Football.London via BT Sport) that he won’t be leaving the club anytime soon following West Ham’s 2-0 loss to Everton on Saturday.

Rice is a player who clearly loves the east London side and wants to remain there for the foreseeable future, and the club now has a duty to make to build the future team around the 20-year-old midfielder.

Of course, the obvious player to build the future team around would be Felipe Anderson as he’s been simply sensational since joining, but Rice is quickly developing into the heart and soul of the club so it’s a no-brainer.

The England international, who is valued at £31.5 million (by Transfermarkt), is the best player to come through the club in years. His professionalism and constant development on the pitch has made him someone who can grow into one of the best midfielders in the league in the future, and Pellegrini needs to be aware of this.

Playing at the base of a 4-1-4-1 formation has made Rice the engine room of West Ham this season, and this summer Pellegrini and the transfer committee have to make sure they bring in players that not only improve the side overall but can facilitate the development of the club’s new star man.

A steady backline with fullbacks who can partner well with Rice would be a good starting point, as well nailing on who the two starting central midfielders should be that can add extra creativity and defensive cover to lessen the burden for the 20-year-old midfielder should Pellegrini decide to keep the same formation for next season.

In Rice, West Ham has one of the best young prospects in English football, and now they need to build the future of their club around a player who can lead them to greatness in years to come.

كشف سيد عبدالحفيظ، مدير الكرة بالأهلي، موقف محمد الشناوي حارس مرمى الفريق الأول من الغياب عن مباراة نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وترددت أنباء تفيد حصول محمد الشناوي على إنذارين قبل مواجهة الوداد المغربي التي حسمها الأهلي لصالحه بثنائية نظيفة.

ونفى سيد عبد الحفيظ في تصريحات للموقع الرسمي بالنادي الأهلي حصول محمد الشناوي، على أي بطاقة صفراء خلال مباراة الوداد المغربي في نصف نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

وأكد: “الشناوي غير مهدد بالغياب عن مباراة النهائي الإفريقي، حال حصوله على إنذار جديد في مباراة العودة أمام الوداد الجمعة المقبل”.

وأوضح: “الشناوي لديه إنذار واحد فقط، ناله في مباراة العودة أمام صن داونز في الدور ربع النهائي من البطولة، ما تردد حول تلقيه إنذارا ثانيا أمام الوداد غير صحيح تمامًا”.

 واختتم عبد الحفيظ تصريحاته موضحا أن لائحة الاتحاد الإفريقي المنظمة للبطولة تنص على إيقاف اللاعب عند حصوله على ثلاثة كروت صفراء،  وأن الأهلي غير مهدد بالحرمان من أي لاعب، حال تخطيه مباراة العودة أمام الوداد، وبلوغه المباراة النهائية في النسخة الحالية من دوري رابطة الأبطال”.

جدير بالذكر أن الأهلي يلاقي الوداد مساء الجمعة المقبل على أرضية ميدان استاد القاهرة الدولي في إياب نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

The 2018/19 season hasn’t been full of too many reasons for Rotherham fans to celebrate but last Sunday night they were able to praise one of their players following the EFL awards.

Midfielder Will Vaulks was presented with the PFA Player in the Community award for his work with the Bluebell Wood hospice, who are dedicated to helping children and young adults with shortened life expectancy or complex medical needs.

Vaulks’ work with the hospice is exemplary and as such, he gained a terrific number of plaudits for picking up the award.

Reacting to the news on Twitter, fans of the Millers praised the 25-year-old who was described as a legend by one supporter.

Another fan said he hoped to see the player wear the captain’s armband at the club for years to come whilst one more eluded to how good of a role model he is.

The Rotherham man has featured 36 times in the Championship this season and also earned his first international cap for Wales this year.

وقال سليمان خلال مداخلة ببرنامج “وان تو” عبر أثير “أون سبورت إف إم”: “كأس مصر دائما يحمل مفاجآت، بالتأكيد الأهلي نادي عظيم ولكن الاتحاد أيضًا نادي جماهيري”.

وتابع: “سنخوض مباريات الكأس المتبقية بالصفقات الجديدة، حسام حسن وجهازه المعاون يعملون على تدعيم الفريق بلاعبين جدد، ونبحث عن لاعبين على قدر المسؤولية لنجهز فريقا قادرا على المنافسة في الموسم المقبل”.

يذكر أن الاتحاد السكندري أعلن حسام حسن مديرًا فنيًا جديدًا للفريق خلفا لـ طلعت يوسف بعدما قدم الأخير اعتذاره عن استكمال مهمته.

ويقع الاتحاد بالمركز الـ12 في جدول ترتيب الدوري برصيد 39 نقطة وتتبقى له مباراة بالجولة الأخيرة أمام أسوان.

Henri Lansbury made just his second Championship appearance of the season in Aston Villa’s 2-1 win over Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.

It has been a really rotten season for the midfielder due to a number of injury problems.

He played eight minutes against Birmingham City at the end of November, but the clash with Bristol City proved to be just the second time that he had seen some league action during the 2018-19 campaign.

Villa will, understandably, be cautious when it comes to the 28-year-old’s fitness, but his return at this stage of the season is a huge boost for the club.

At the weekend, Villa’s official Twitter account posted a message welcoming Lansbury back to the team.

And that led to a number of the Championship club’s supporters revealing their views – most of which were positive – on the former England Under-21 international.

Liverpool have been nothing short of sensational in the current campaign but this season won’t be remembered unless Jurgen Klopp manages to secure an elusive piece of silverware.

The Reds are set to take on FC Porto in the second leg of their Champions League tie later on tonight, with a two-goal advantage giving them the upper-hand.

However, it appears as if the Reds are eyeing a possible summer swoop at this moment in time, as according to Birmingham Mail (via The Kop Times), Liverpool are set to rival Wolves for the signing of Nicolas Pepe.

Indeed, the winger has been simply sensational over in France at current club LOSC Lille in the current campaign, having produced a whopping 20 goals and 14 assists in all competitions. He’s arguably one of the hottest topics in world football at this moment in time, so signing him in the summer would be brilliant for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp really would be crazy not to sign the winger as he’s already well on his way to becoming a superstar and he’s still only 23-years-old. Pepe even has more assists than both Sadio Mane (4) and Mohamed Salah (10) in the current campaign, so he could be the extra creative spark that’s been missing this season.

However, the Reds are reportedly (as per Bild, via HITC) ready to pay Julian Brandt’s £21.5 million release clause, which could put a potential deal for Nicolas Pepe in doubt.

FSG may have to pay more money to sign Pepe as he’s valued at £36 million (as per Transfermarkt), but he would definitely be worth the purchase.

Klopp should forget about signing his fellow countryman as he’s produced 13 less goals than Pepe and the same amount of assists, so it’s clear to see that the Ivory Coast international is the better option. And, he’s only one year older than Brandt so it’s not as if the German offers much more in terms of potential.
