At full-back, for a squad that cost so much to assemble, Chelsea are hardly spoilt for choice.
Left-back, in particular, has been an area where the Blues have looked extremely vulnerable this season, with Marcos Alonso having struggled to cope with the team’s transition from a back three to a back four.
Considering that, with Jay Dasilva now possibly heading for the exit door, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy could end the summer with a lot of questions to answer.
All things considered, the 21-year-old looks an ideal option in this moment of time and could have been a great addition to the squad amid the west London club’s transfer ban, providing adequate competition for Emerson.
But with Bristol City manager Lee Johnson hinting Dasilva’s loan move could be about to become a permanent (Sound of the City via Bristol Live) one, the Chelsea faithful will probably now never know.
Given Dasilva’s ability and potential, it is a surprise the Blues have come to such an arrangement with Bristol.
Technically, the England U21 international is superb. He can take the ball past his opponent and get out of tight spots with the skill he possesses.
For an offensive-minded coach, Dasilva is close to being the dream full-back.
The above does not necessarily mean Dasilva would come in and be an instant fix for the Blues but the foundations are there for him to go on and make a name for himself.
It really would be a disaster if he was to leave as he has all the ingredients to become a star at Stamford Bridge and they’re not exactly blessed with the best of options at left-back. And, with the transfer ban hanging over Chelsea’s head at this moment in time it would be very stupid of them to let a player like Dasilva leave permanently.
Chelsea have been known to sell players who have gone on to become superstars, with Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne being fine examples of that. And, Dasilva could be the next if he ends up leaving.
Chelsea fans, would you be disappointed to see Dasilva leave the club? Join the discussion by commenting below.

Fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers would be forgiven if they were still celebrating their success this season! Qualifying for Europa League football in their first campaign back in the Premier League is some going!
Wolves’ success in the top-flight will have been encouraging and they will have every chance of going as far as possible in the tournament if they can replicate their performances.
However, with the competition added to their schedule next year, it would certainly be wise for Nuno Espirito Santo and the Fosun International group to look to try and bring in some additions that would go a long way towards helping them to achieve great things.
Wolves are currently thin in certain areas and you would only have to look at Burnley’s efforts in the competition earlier in the season to see what happens with a rather limited squad and the effects it can have on the whole campaign.
And, it would seem they have a classy candidate on their shortlist that could help to bolster the central midfield and provide some additional creativity to their side.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Wolves are interested in signing Real Betis’ Victor Camarasa this summer after an impressive campaign with Cardiff City.
The playmaker managed to provide five goals and four assists for the Bluebirds in the top-flight and the Spanish outfit are considering whether to let him go out on a temporary deal once again or offload him permanently.
Blessed with exceptional quality, Camarasa would provide the likes of Ruben Neves, Leander Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho and Morgan Gibbs-White with some competition for places in the team.
Valued at £5.4million by Transfermarkt, the Spaniard is an excellent crosser of the ball and could provide Raul Jimenez with an additional creative outlet; one that the Mexican could thrive upon.
Camarasa is also the type of player that Nuno would love to have in his team. The midfielder likes to get back and help out his team-mates with their defensive duties as much as he likes to do all the attractive work going forward.
Thus, if Wolves do decide that they want to bring Camarasa to Molineux, they will need to act quickly as the Daily Mail claim the likes of West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Everton are all keen on securing the 24-year-old’s signature.
Wolves fans, do you think Camarasa would be a great acquisition this summer? Let us know your thoughts below!
Manchester City are champions, Liverpool ran the Blues close, Chelsea somehow sneaked into the top three and Tottenham Hotspur, despite their brilliant Champions League campaign, lost 13 times but managed to hold off both Arsenal and Manchester United to finish in the top four.
Huddersfield Town endured one of the worst top-flight campaigns of all time and dropped back into the Championship along with Fulham, so ravaged by financial mismanagement, and Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City.
With the summer transfer window looming, and the managerial merry-go-round already in full swing – Brighton & Hove Albion have sacked Chris Hughton despite a 17th-placed finish – Football FanCast takes a close look at every club’s managerial situation.
Who is in danger of the sack? And who is certain to be leading their current employers out on the first day of the 2019-20 campaign?
Take a look below!
[snack_break title=”Manchester City”]
Do we even need to write anything here? Pep Guardiola’s job security is about as secure as a triple-bolted door boarded up with wood. The Spaniard has won 198 points across the last two seasons and has just secured a domestic treble of trophies.
Imagine sacking him!

The likelihood of Jurgen Klopp getting sacked is about as improbable as Mike Dean not making everything about himself; pretty far-fetched. The German has begun what feels like a legacy at the club, and even if he doesn’t deliver a trophy this year, his connection with his players and the fanbase is unique.
[snack_break title=”Wolves”]
Nuno Santo’s job at Wolves is as safe as houses. He’s done an exceptional job since taking over and it seems like the sky is the limit for the club at the moment. There’s room for improvement but he’s learning all the time and that will only benefit them even further going forward.
[snack_break title=”Tottenham Hotspur”]
Mauricio Pochettino is probably the safest manager in the Premier League when it comes to the project but there are rumblings from the Argentine that he could leave if Spurs win the Champions League. It would be difficult to blame him if he did; it’s a bit like completing Football Manager. Chairman Daniel Levy, though, will be desperate for him to stay.
[snack_break title=”Burnley”]
Sean Dyche basically is Burnley Football Club. He has made them a Premier League club and deserves an immense amount of credit for it – he’s got no chance of being sacked this summer.
[snack_break title=”Leicester City”]
Brendan Rodgers is in no danger of losing his job this summer. He’s made the King Power faithful feel positive about their club again and there are so many reasons for Leicester supporters to feel positive about their chances under Rodgers going into the summer and beyond. It’s an exciting time to be involved with the club.
[snack_break title=”Watford”]
Javi Gracia has done a phenomenal job at a Watford team that were expected to struggle this season. An 11th-placed finish – well above the relegation zone – and an FA Cup final marks a very successful season that can be built on in the seasons to come.
[snack_break title=”AFC Bournemouth”]
It’s been a strange season for the Cherries, who flirted with relegation but ultimately finished 14th. One feels Eddie Howe might have taken the club as far as they can go; he is perhaps more likely to walk away than get the boot, however.

Unai Emery, one would think, is safe as houses but he needs help. He’s done well to take the Gunners to the Europa League final and, though a top-four finish was beyond them, investment could take them back into the upper echelons of the table next season.

Everton and Marco Silva went through a bit of a sticky patch just after the turn of the year, but the former Hull boss seems to have ironed out the issues to turn his side into a well-oiled machine. We know what the Goodison Park faithful can get like, however, so he must show that the good end to the season can be sustained or things could go sour.
[snack_break title=”Southampton”]
Ralph Hasenhuttl will be absolutely fine. He was appointed in December after the genuinely awful reign of Mark Hughes and he now has a full summer to bring in the players he feels he needs to realise his exciting philosophy at St Mary’s.

Manuel Pellegrini endured a couple of wobbles this season but West Ham ultimately finished the season in 10th, winning all of their last three games. Investment is likely this summer but the Hammers will be looking to mount a sustained challenge for Europa League football next term.

The worst Premier League side of the last decade, Jan Siewert was dealt a truly terrible hand when he took over in mid-season. He perhaps deserves a shot at bringing them back from the second-tier but, after the rise in quality in the Championship, that would take yet another Terriers miracle.
[snack_break title=”Chelsea”]
Maurizio Sarri endured a difficult season for the majority of 2018-19 but he somehow guided the club into the top three. They will be playing Champions League football next season but they will also be under a transfer ban; persuading another manager to move to Stamford Bridge would be a remarkably tough ask. Sarri, then, might just be safe.
[snack_break title=”Manchester United”]
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer probably shouldn’t have even got the job permanently in the first place, but here we are. United’s terrible run of form isn’t being solely blamed on him, but start next season off in similar fashion, and the finger will be pointed at the Norwegian.
[snack_break title=”Cardiff City”]
Neil Warnock is one of the most charismatic managers in the game and he did all he could to keep Cardiff up, though he ultimately succumbed to the brutal reality of the Premier League. They could well dispense with him as they look to make an instant return.
[snack_break title=”Newcastle United”]
This will be a fascinating summer for Newcastle and Rafa Benitez. He’s in no danger of being sacked but there is the possibility that he’ll leave. He’s one of the best managers in the league still and the Magpies simply have to back him in regards to transfers funds. Otherwise, they can wave adios to their heralded Spanish manager.

Roy Hodgson and the Eagles ended the season well; they won three of their last five games and lost just once, perhaps pointing to a brighter 2019-20 season. They cannot afford to have such awful home form, however; they won just five games at Selhurst Park. Similar struggles next term could see Hodgson dismissed.
[snack_break title=”Fulham”]
Although the Cottagers have only just given Scott Parker the reins, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was packing his bags again soon. His record with Fulham to date hasn’t been fantastic and you have to doubt whether he’s got the ability to take them back to the top-flight. We could well see another managerial change at Craven Cottage very shortly.
[snack_break title=”Brighton & Hove Albion”]
Chris Hughton was sacked after a 17th-placed finish. Graham Potter has now stepped into his shoes after enjoying a promising campaign with Swansea City, and the Seagulls faithful can now look forward to watching him implement an exciting brand of football. Patience is a virtue that may not be afforded to Potter, however, and his players will need to deliver both style and results to keep him at the helm.
It was meant to be the night he wrote his name into Arsenal legend and finally won over the hearts of his harshest critics, but Mesut Ozil didn’t even turn up.
The divided number 10 yet again unimpressed in what was arguably Arsenal’s biggest game of the decade, vanishing the moment the whistle blew for kick-off to when he casually strolled off the pitch 77 minutes in for teenager Joe Willock, who did more in 13 minutes for Arsenal than what Ozil had managed over the course of a few weeks.
The German has had his worst season ever in north London, falling out of favour with Unai Emery and only putting in a whopping one good performance for the club this campaign, and if the final wasn’t a clear enough indication, Ozil has to leave Arsenal this summer.
Signed for £42.4 million, it will take a miracle for the club to move on Ozil this transfer window with his astronomical £350,000-a-week contract anchoring down Arsenal financially, but even if the Gunners were to sell the German and pay a portion of his wages, it will still be a risk worth taking.
The signing of Ozil was once heralded as a changing of the times at Arsenal, but nearly six years down the line, it has proven to be nothing but a step back for the club and a saga that has damaged the side’s long-term plans for a return to football’s elite.
Renewing with the Gunners was one of the worst moves the club have made in years, and now Emery faces the task of trying to shift off a player a who is now not good enough Arsenal.
Arsenal fans, should the club sell Ozil this summer? Let us know!

Everton could return to European football if they drop their chase to secure Andre Gomes and put all their efforts into signing Adrien Rabiot instead. Yes, get rid of a man who has performed pretty well for the Toffees this season and go for broke on a PSG outcast. That’s the kind of ruthless strategy we want to see coming out of Goodison Park.
Le 10 Sport have claimed the Merseyside outfit are interested in the Frenchman, whose passing ability would give the Toffees much more control in the centre of the park. Indeed, his 92% passing accuracy in Ligue 1 this season proves what an impact he could have.
After a difficult season behind the scenes, he made 14 appearances for PSG in the league season and although he only made one assist and scored two goals, his game is about setting the tempo for his teammates to cause the damage. Gomes has scored one less goal, but it’s clear they’re both not being headhunted to make great finishers anyway.
In May the Liverpool Echo reported Everton have opened talks with Barcelona to make Gomes’ move permanent, but his pass completion in the Premier League is just 84%. Frankly, that’s the most important stat and Everton should heed that warning.
Rabiot would probably cost a lot more in wages, considering his reported wage demands are apparently putting off Juventus (as per La Gazzetta dello Sport via Calcio Mercato in May) but if Everton want to reach the top they have to compete with the best teams for the best players, and Rabiot fits that bracket.
Maybe they’ll need to overpay but would that really be such a bad thing to make a statement of this kind? It’d certainly be a coup and something to attract attention to an Everton side who have struggled to really capitalise on the investment they’ve had in recent years.
