Key Information about Keepmoat Stadium

Keepmoat Stadium has been the home of Doncaster Rovers Football Club since it was opened in 2007.

The multi-purpose all-seated capacity holds just over 15,000 spectators, which is 5,000 more than Belle Vue – the previous home of Doncaster Rovers for 84 years.

The stadium is also home to Doncaster Rugby League Club, and Doncaster Rovers Belles Ladies Football Club, and the ground comprises four geographical stands all sponsored by various local businesses.

A history of Keepmoat Stadium

Keepmoat Stadium was completed in December of 2006, and the brand new stadium is owned by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and rented by the three sports clubs. The first game at the new ground famously saw three red cards in a New Year’s Day thriller against Huddersfield Town in 2007.

Doncaster centre-forward Mark McCammon was the first player to score in the new stadium, though the official opening of Keepmoat Stadium was on 3 August 2007, which was the day Doncaster hosted Manchester United in front of over 13,000 fans – the Red Devils went on to win the friendly match 2-0. The summer of 2012 marked a monumental time for Doncaster as it was confirmed that the football club had secured a 99-year operating lease from the borough council which meant the club were back in charge of their new home of football after renting the ground for 6 years.

The brand new stadium also features a new fan area with a bar for them to enjoy pre-match drinks. The actual pitch in Keepmoat Stadium is a hybrid between synthetic fibres and natural grass, providing a truly unique playing experience. This new feature ensures the quality of the pitch remains throughout all seasons and weather, albeit under-soil heating was not installed despite it being a modern pitch.

The East Stand is sponsored by Donasonic, and is commonly known as the family area, in addition to this, the West Stand is sponsored by Estate.com, the South Stand is sponsored by Polypipe and is associated with the Doncaster ultras, and the North Stand is sponsored by Corsan.

Season tickets to watch Doncaster Rovers at Keepmoat Stadium stand at around £300-400 for adults depending on which league Rovers will be competing in and whether or not early bird tickets are purchased. Standard single match adult tickets start at £21 and juniors can attend for just £5 per game. No Brasileirão do ano passado, você não poupou críticas à arbitragem. Quais seriam suas sugestões para melhorar?
Acredito que os responsáveis pela arbitragem no Brasil deveriam se reunir constantemente, buscando a melhoria e a profissionalização dos juízes brasileiros.

Qual era o segredo do time do Sport no ano passado (terminou em sexto lugar)? Por que encaixou tão bem?
Tínhamos um grupo que jogava junto há bastante tempo e esse entrosamento se refletia diretamente nos resultados. A diretoria do Sport tem se esforçado para fazer contratações pontuais, que chegam e se encaixam muito bem no grupo. Acredito que neste ano brigaremos sempre pelas posições de cima da tabela.

Qual a expectativa para a temporada do Sport? Superar o desempenho no Brasileirão do ano passado?
O Falcão vem fazendo um trabalho muito bom, o que tem sido importante para o crescimento do time na temporada. Espero que possamos terminar o ano comemorando muitas vitórias e títulos com a nossa torcida.

O que a experiência te trouxe?
A experiência trouxe maturidade para conhecer os atalhos dentro de campo e saber entender mais rápido os adversários.

Qual sua opinião sobre organizadas invadirem os CTs dos clubes para cobrar jogadores e dirigentes?
CT é o local de trabalho de um profissional do futebol e jamais deveria ser invadido por torcedores. Nunca vi pressão de torcida com invasões justificar bom resultado dentro de campo. Atitudes como essas deveriam ser repreendidas severamente pelos clubes e pelas autoridades locais.

Por que quis retornar tão rápido ao Sport depois de acertar com o Fluminense? Conversou com Eduardo Baptista? Como foi?
Quis voltar para onde eu me sentia melhor. Estava muito feliz em Recife e, quando retornei ao Rio de Janeiro, senti muita falta daqui. Tenho meus amigos e familiares no Rio, mas aqui em Recife me sentia em casa e fiz amigos que me acolheram muito bem.

O que ainda te falta no futebol?
Hoje meu sonho é colocar o Sport no degrau mais alto das competições que disputamos. Vim aqui para entrar para a história do clube e acredito que vou cumprir com o que planejei. Espero um dia olhar para trás e ver que minha história aqui no Sport está relacionada a títulos e conquistas.

Você jogou no Oriente Médio, mas seu período por lá foi curto, já que não pagavam seu salário. Você foi enganado?
Infelizmente, no futebol dos dias de hoje ainda existem clubes que não cumprem com o que prometem. Fiquei cerca de seis meses no futebol árabe e não recebi um centavo do que haviam me prometido. Depois de sentar muitas vezes com meus empresários e diretores do clube, entendemos que a melhor coisa a se fazer seria ir à Justiça.

Em 2009, você e Cleiton Xavier eram vistos como dois dos melhores meias do Brasil. Ambos foram para a Seleção, mas não tiveram sequência com Dunga. Depois, o Palmeiras caiu de produção e perdeu um título que aparentava estar nas mãos. O que aconteceu?
O Brasileiro é uma competição muito equilibrada e, infelizmente, tivemos uma queda de rendimento. Me lembro que uma coisa que nos atrapalhou muito no segundo semestre foi a lesão de muitos titulares. Eram peças importantes que fizeram muita falta.

Um lance marcante de sua carreira foi naquelas quartas de final da Libertadores de 2012, quando você sai cara a cara com Cássio e acaba desperdiçando chance clara de gol para o Vasco. Poderia ter mudado toda a história?
Não sei se aquele gol teria mudado o resultado final do confronto, porque o futebol nos promove surpresas o tempo todo, mas certamente foi um lance que poderia ter definido o placar a nosso favor. Acredito que foi mais mérito do Cássio do que outra coisa.

According to El Desmarque, Everton are one of the clubs interested in signing Levante play-maker Jose Campana this summer.

Having taken over mid-way through the season from Marco Silva, Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti will head into his first summer transfer window in charge at Goodison Park.

And as per Spanish publication El Desmarque, the likes of Everton, Leeds, Aston Villa and Arsenal are looking to lure Campana back to English football – he spent some time on these shores a few years ago with Crystal Palace.

Bye, bye Sigurdsson

Since arriving from Swansea in a big-money deal, it’s fair to say Gylfi Sigurdsson hasn’t exactly set Goodison Park alight with his performances.

Last season in particular saw him struggle immensely, netting just three goals and providing only three assists in 38 games across all competitions. That lack of end product from the Iceland international is why Ancelotti must surely be demanding a new play-maker this summer – and Campana fits the bill perfectly.

The £18m-rated ace provided seven assists in La Liga alone, and as per Whoscored, provided two key passes per game in the Spanish top-flight. With the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison up top, having a creative midfielder who can pull the strings from deep is what can really unlock their potential.

And with reports in recent months suggesting Sigurdsson could be set for an exit, Campana’s arrival may just seal his fate at Goodison. Spanish football expert Graham Hunter once suggested that the midfielder’s former club Sevilla considered him an “immense talent”. At 27, it might be finally be his time to shine in England.

ووصف الرئيس التنفيذي للنادي، هانز فاتسكه، اتفاق انتقال إيرلينج هالاند مع بوروسيا دورتموند بأنه محض هراء.

هذا الادعاء الذي يتعارض مع التقارير التي تفيد بأن اللاعب البالغ من العمر 21 عامًا لديه اتفاق على الرحيل عن فريق البوندسليجا في نهاية الموسم، قيل إنه أزعج وكيل اللاعبين مينو رايولا، وفقًا لصحيفة “ميرور” البريطانية.

Speaking to talkSPORT, via Birmingham Live, former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara claimed that he would love to see Aston Villa skipper Jack Grealish finally sign for the north Londoners, he said:

“I really like him, he’s had a great season. I think it would be brilliant for Spurs if I’m honest. I think we should have got him a season ago when he was probably a lot cheaper. I don’t know if Spurs have got the money, maybe if they’re offloading a couple. He would be great – does he stay at Villa? I think now it’s time for him to step up. If he wants to be that England player and be in that squad in a weekly basis – I think he needs to move to a team that is going to be up near the top six.”

Back in 2018, there were reports suggesting that Daniel Levy was going to bid for the English playmaker but eventually, it fell through leading to Grealish admitting his disappointment.

He could cost a lot more than that £25m offer now.

Eriksen heir

Spurs haven’t really filled the void left behind by Eriksen, who left for Inter Milan during the January transfer window. Yes, Giovani Lo Celso has shown glimpses, but he’s only managed to provide two assists all season in the Premier League.

Despite playing for a Villa side that finished 17th, Grealish racked up more created chances than the likes of James Maddison, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joao Moutinho.

In fact, it was only Kevin de Bruyne who managed more this season, as per Squawka.

The 24-year-old also provided Villa with eight goals and six assists, averaging 2.5 key passes, 2 dribbles and 2 shots per game, via WhoScored, so in some ways he carried his boyhood club over the line.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher lauded Grealish as “influential” after naming him in his Team of the Season for the TV company whilst his boss believes he has “star quality” similar to Dele Alli. High praise indeed.

Robert Pires even went as far as saying that he reminded him of his old Gunners teammate Dennis Bergkamp.

It remains to be seen how much the Villa superstar will command this summer, particularly with the Midlanders staving off relegation. Fees as high as £80m have been mooted, so it would ultimately come down to Mr Levy.

And while ultimately very disappointing for them given they’ve had a great 2019/20 campaign, it could be very beneficial for other teams looking to swoop in and raid their highly-talented squad.

According to the latest reports from The Mirror, Crystal Palace are set to trigger Ollie Watkins’ £18m release clause and bring the forward to the Premier League. However, as we already know, Leeds United are also showing interest in the 24-year-old and we’re bound to see the two teams clash in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Marcelo Bielsa seems to be a fan of Watkins and it was already reported earlier that the Whites intend to do exactly the same and acquire the young striker, maybe also by paying the release clause. And looking at his numbers, it’s pretty easy to see why.

The 24-year-old has bagged 25 goals in the Championship and seems to be ready for the next level. Whether that’s going to be at Leeds United or Crystal Palace, we don’t know.

What we do know, however, is that the interest from both clubs seems to be real and they are bound to clash for his signature. With the Whites clinching their promotion to the Premier League, they are in need of quality reinforcements and Watkins could offer exactly that.

Watkins a bargain at £18m

Whoever ends up snatching up Watkins will definitely get a bargain striker for £18m. Nowadays, you simply can’t get quality without spending huge sums of money and for that reason, this deal would surely feel like striking gold for either of the teams.

Leeds will, however, need to make a statement now that they have secured Premier League football for 2020/21 and what better way to do that than showing up with an incredibly stacked squad?

Bielsa definitely knows what he’s doing, now it’s just about getting the deal over the line.
