Em entrevista ao LANCE!, o zagueiro Dedé, do Cruzeiro, relatou tudo o que passou durante quase 12 meses que ficou afastado do futebol. Agora de volta aos gramados, o Mito faz questão de exaltar o trabalho do médico José Luiz Runco, que cuidou da cirurgia. O jogador, inclusive, faz questão de sair em defesa do ex-médico da Seleção Brasileira, evitando qualquer polêmica sobre o tempo de recuperação. E é o próprio Runco que dá detalhes sobre a grave lesão que tratou: ligamento cruzado posterior do joelho direito.

– Esse tipo de lesão não costuma ser comum. Até por conta disso, o tempo de recuperação dela é um pouco mais demorado. Portanto, o Dedé não atrasou nenhuma etapa de retorno às atividades. O tempo estimado para o jogador se reabilitar é de 10 a 12 meses. Com relação a retirada do parafuso, foi devido a uma situação pouco comum, mas que acontece, quando o organismo rejeita. Mas isso não causa tipo de problema nenhum, até porque seis meses depois, a cicatrização já está efetuada. Agora o jogador faz um reforço muscular na região para evitar qualquer tipo de problema e realiza suas atividades sem limitação – disse Runco.

According to Football Insider, Southampton have opened talks to sign Newcastle right-back DeAndre Yedlin.

The Saints are already on the verge of signing Theo Walcott on a short-term basis, and now they are eyeing a loan move for the USA international.

The report adds that the Magpies have given the green light for him to make the switch to St. Mary’s Stadium.

Yedlin has failed to make a single appearance for Steve Bruce’s side this season in the Premier League, whilst he appeared just 16 times last term as well. Prior to that, though, he was a regular, playing 90 times across three league campaigns.

He has 62 caps for his country, and also played in the top tier with Sunderland and Tottenham – albeit fleetingly. This is a man who has a whole host of experience at this level, and at 27 years old, you would not say that his best years are behind him.

With this being a temporary deal, this is a cheap option for Ralph Hasenhuttl and co. The Saints will be hoping that they can get this deal over the line, as it provides competition and cover for Kyle Walker-Peters without the cost of a permanent move.

O Vasco enfrenta o Coritiba às 17h deste domingo para tentar se salvar do rebaixamento para Série B. O clube carioca precisa vencer e contar com tropeços de Figueirense e Avaí para seguir na elite do futebol brasileiro.

Former Scotland defender Alan Hutton has tipped Todd Cantwell to leave Norwich City before the domestic transfer window closes as Leeds United’s interest continues.

Whilst the European transfer window closed last week, the domestic window remains open until next Friday, and a name that continues to be linked with a move to Elland Road is that of Cantwell.

The 22-year-old midfielder is currently on the books at Carrow Road, having been part of the Canaries side that suffered relegation from the Premier League last term.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa is seemingly keen on bringing in the youngster, having seen him contribute last season with six goals and two assists in his 37 top-flight appearances.

Cantwell among several players expected to move

Cantwell’s future has been discussed, with Hutton telling Football Insider that he feels the midfielder will be just a number of players making a move from the Championship to the top flight over the next week.

“He was probably one of the shining stars for Norwich last season, he was one of four of them in that squad that you’d pick out that were likely to leave,” the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said.

“Really good potential, he’s young and he looked hungry in the Premier League, he’s got all the attributes to play at a high level.

“I think with this window being open until the 16th, it gives teams room and time, however you want to look at it, they can go for their first targets, whether it be bigger signings, if you like, and they can have that on the backburner.

“I think that’s what it seems, that a lot of teams are looking and saying if target A doesn’t work out, we’ve also got this, we’ve got X amount of days, there’s not as much pressure to get that done. 

“It wouldn’t surprise me if something happened for Cantwell and a few players coming out of the Championship to the Premier League.” 

With the 22-year-old’s future in the spotlight, Football Insider also claimed earlier this week that Norwich are keen to fend off Leeds’ interest after rejecting two bids over the course of the last month.

Cantwell dreams of Elland Road move

Valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, Cantwell has two years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road and is said to be desperately keen on a move to Elland Road.

Bielsa remains keen on a move for the Canaries midfielder, especially after missing out on new Marseille signing Michael Cuisance last week.

Norwich are likely to play hardball over the next few days as they seek to keep hold of a player who could be vital to a potential promotion push, but the lure of Bielsa and Premier League football and the chance to play alongside the likes of Pablo Hernandez could see Cantwell push hard for an exit.

Even despite going 1-0 up thanks to a Luke Shaw own goal, it never really looked like Newcastle were going to come away with all three points against Manchester United on Saturday night.

Steve Bruce’s side got off to the perfect possible start as Shaw turned the ball inside his own net within two minutes, but even with that early shot in the arm, the Magpies didn’t seem interested in getting out of second gear.

Bearing in mind that this was the same United team that got demolished 6-1 at home to Tottenham, and it was incredibly disappointing to see Newcastle not being willing to throw any significant punches on a surely wounded Red Devils.

Instead, they were incredibly passive throughout, and the fact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side took an incredible four times as many shots as them – 28 to 7 – just underlined how frustrating the Magpies were.

But whilst they surrendered a point thanks to a late flurry of goals from United in the final few minutes of the game, Bruce effectively lost complete control of the match with his reluctance to make game-changing substitutions earlier than he should have.

It took until the 73rd minute for Ryan Fraser to be introduced into the attack for a hapless Joelinton, even despite the Scotland international being his country’s match-winning hero in midweek against Czech Republic.

The club’s summer signing would have been on cloud nine following his goal-scoring display, and Bruce could really have tapped into the momentum that he would have built.

And if that wasn’t bad enough in itself, Bruce waited another 15 minutes to bring on Miguel Almiron, having seen Bruno Fernandes give United the lead.

The Paraguayan’s goal-scoring record for Newcastle leaves a lot to be desired – he’s managed just nine goals in 59 games – but his pace and energy would have offered the Magpies a much-needed counter attacking threat.

Instead, Bruce’s in-game management reflected the Tyneside club’s performance: passive, weak and ultimately far too little, and far too late.

Em 2016, os treinos do Botafogo terão uma “nova” sede. Nos próximos dias, os equipamentos de treino e musculação do clube serão levados para General Severiano, onde os atletas profissionais farão suas atividades.

Promessa da campanha presidencial de Carlos Eduardo Pereira, o retorno ao local foi antecipado devido aos Jogos Olímpicos Rio-2016. Vale lembrar que Nilton Santos, que abrigou os treinamentos da equipe nos últimos anos, será entregue para a Prefeitura do Rio de Janeiro antes e durante os Jogos. A data ainda é desconhecida, mas uma reunião entre as duas partes nesta segunda-feira deve definir o dia do repasse.

Além de General Severiano, outro endereço deve receber os treinos do Glorioso na próxima temporada. Visando ter mais uma opção, o clube buscou outro campo e até cogitou a hipótese de alugar o CFZ (Centro de Futebol Zico), no Recreio. No entanto, o negócio não avançou por causa dos valores. Assim, Caio Martins servirá para eventuais atividades do time. O gramado do estádio niteroiense foi revitalizado recentemente.

– Tentamos (o CFZ), mas ficou muito caro e nós desistimos. Olhamos uma porção de campo. Melhor ficar aqui (em General Severiano) mesmo. Hoje em dia, o pessoal só treina em campo reduzido. Estaremos colocando o alambrado, um cercado para a bola não ir pra rua e, depois, é começar a treinar. Vai ser uma volta bonita, onde é o nosso campo antigo – explicou Caca Azeredo, vice de futebol do Botafogo.

A reapresentação do Alvinegro está marcada para 4 de janeiro. Após a primeira semana de pré-temporada, o elenco viaja dia 11 para Domingos Martins, região serrana do Espírito Santo, onde ficará em um hotel fazenda. A equipe volta ao Rio no dia 23 do mesmo mês, tornado a usar General Severiano.
