James Pearce has slammed the performance of Roberto Firmino in their 1-1 home draw with Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp’s men wasted a golden opportunity to take all three points at Anfield and thus give themselves a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League for nest season, and instead find themselves with a lot of work to do to achieve that goal.

Joe Willock scored a very late equaliser for Steve Bruce’s team to stab a dagger into the hearts of the Reds faithful after Mo Salah had given them an early lead.

Nonetheless, with the chances that Liverpool squandered, it left Pearce very frustrated at the players after the final whistle, none more so than Firmino.

Writing for The Athletic (via Anfield Watch), the journalist raged: “Firmino was infuriating, especially in those final 10 minutes. He just kept giving the ball away. The lack of composure and common sense out there was ridiculous.”

Firmino was certainly frustrating to watch, as he was guilty of missing multiple chances to score with his three shots on goal. He also lost possession far too often in the game – 17 times in total, the most of any of his teammates to have set foot on the pitch (Sofascore).

The Brazil international simply needs to be more clinical in front of goal – the last of his six goals this season came almost three months ago – or the Reds will likely continue to drop more points in the race to qualify for the Champions League.

وأشار: “هناك لقاء مع شقيق أشرف بن شرقي في المغرب، واللاعب لم يطلب المستحيل ولكن طلب المعقول، بالنسبة للشرط الجزائي العديد من اللاعبين كان قد تم وضع شرط جزائي لهم خلال اللجان السابقة، وبن شرقي سيكون متواجدًا مع الزمالك الفترة المقبلة”.

واستطرد: “سنقوم بدفع المستحقات المفروضة على الزمالك، وإنهاء كل القضايا منعا لتعرض الزمالك لإيقاف القيد مرة اخرلا التي تسببت اللجان في حدوثه”.

واختتم: “كيف قامت اللجان بخروج اللاعبين أمثال جنش وصبحي وحسين فيصل وهناك إيقاف للقيد، ونجهز مقدم عقود كل اللاعبين من أجل التجديد لهم”.

Leicester City are seemingly edging closer to the summer signing of Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Foxes are still “leading the race” to sign the midfielder amidst competition.

Whilst the 22-year-old would be an excellent addition to the Foxes’ squad, the latest development could potentially be bad news for current Leicester midfielder Hamza Choudhury.

Competing with the likes of Wilfred Ndidi and Nampalys Mendy for a starting berth as a defensive midfielder at the King Power Stadium, the Foxes academy graduate has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season – with just ten of those being starts.

The addition of Soumare this summer then would certainly see that competition intensify and likely lead to the 23-year-old Choudhury falling even further down the pecking order, despite Brendan Rodgers labelling him as “outstanding” in the past.

It is certainly easy to see why that would occur with Soumare outperforming Choudhury in tackles, interceptions, aerial duels and blocks per game this season, whilst he also racks up more passes, key passes and dribbles than the current Leicester man according to WhoScored.

So it is easy to suggest that the arrival of the Frenchman would hugely limit Choudhury’s chances of first-team football at the King Power Stadium. However, it could even signal the end of his Leicester career altogether.

Choudhury has been linked with a departure on numerous occasions in the past, the most recent being a potential loan switch to Newcastle United during the January transfer window.

A move never came to fruition but reports have resurfaced in recent days suggesting that the Magpies are once again eyeing the Leicester man, alongside recently promoted Norwich City in the summer window.

Should Soumare arrive at the King Power Stadium, this would certainly allow Choudhury to depart – bringing to an end a Leicester career that he started as a youngster.

Marcus Bent has exclusively told Football FanCast that Crystal Palace need to find the right balance in their squad.

The Eagles have 14 players that are 30 or older in their current squad, and with 15 of their first-team setup out of contract at the end of the season, it promises to be a crucial summer at Selhurst Park in terms of the playing staff, and the manager Roy Hodgson whose deal is also due to expire.

In contrast, Tyrick Mitchell and Eberechi Eze, who are 21 and 22 respectively, are the only regulars under the age of 25.

But whilst Bent believes that Palace could freshen up their squad, he recognises the importance of experience.

Despite their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday, Fulham’s loss by the same scoreline at Chelsea has all but guaranteed the Eagles a ninth consecutive season in the Premier League.

Palace will be hoping to put an end to a run of three successive defeats and get over the 40-point mark when they face already-relegated Sheffield United at Bramall Lane next weekend.

Bent told Football FanCast:

“The trouble is, you’ve got the experienced pros in there, who are keeping you in the Premier League. If you start tweaking stuff, sometimes it can go wrong, so I’m not sure you want to change the whole team.

“But with several players coming to the end of their contracts, whether they stay or go, they’re not going to get money for them.

“But you need experience, Cahill, that pro to direct you in the right way on and off the pitch. So I can’t see massive changes on the pitch.”

وانتقل تشافي للحديث عن لاعبيه، وبدأ ببيدري قائلاً: “بيدري لا يفقد الكرة، يسيطر على ساقيه، متفوق، ما يقدمه في الملعب وإيقاعه، لاعب رائع على أعلى مستوى ويبلغ من العمر 19 عامًا فقط، إنه مذهل، ربما هو بالفعل الأفضل في العالم في مركزه”.

وشدد تشافي: “لا يوجد موهبة في العالم أكبر من بيدري، عليك تدليله، والاعتناء به، هو يصنع فرقًا، يسرق الكرات، يعرف اختيار الزمان والمكان المناسبين، إنه لأمر رائع أن يكون لديك لاعب مثله، إنه ليس لاعبًا عاديًا، إنه يقطع الكرات يمنحنا الهدوء، والآن يسجل الأهداف … إنه لاعب لامع”.

وأردف بشأن أوباميانج: “لقد سجل الأهداف طوال مسيرته، لقد دخل بشكل جيد في المساحات، إنه ناضج وذكي ومتواضع وإيجابي، أنا سعيد به، الهدفان سيمنحاه الثقة”.

وعن فاعلية الفريق، استطرد تشافي: “الأمر يعتمد على الثقة، والإيمان، والتدريب، واللاعبين … اليوم كنا مؤثرين للغاية، لو كنا قد حصلنا عليها في يوم نابولي، لكانت النتيجة أكثر نجاحًا، نحن على المسار الصحيح، أعتقد أننا لعبنا بشكل أفضل في يوم نابولي”.

وأكمل: “لدينا راحة البال حتى يوم الخميس، وبعد ذلك، يوم الأحد … وهكذا، علينا أن نواصل، لسنا في وضع جيد، نحن في مركز مؤهل لدوري الأبطال ولكننا في حاجة ماسة أن نكون أكثر ثباتًا وثقة، علينا أن نعرف كيف ندافع بالكرة وبدونها”.

وأكد تشافي: “الفوز على ملعب مثل ميستايا، وهو أمر صعب دائمًا، يمنحنا الكثير من الثقة بالطبع (قبل مواجهة الخيس أمام نابولي في الدوري الأوروبي)”.

وعلّق تشافي على مشاركة رونالد أراخو العائد من الإصابة: “كان أراخو مذهلاً، لقد سألته أننا بحاجة إليه، المباراة رائعة، لقد عانى إيريك جارسيا أيضًا، أنا سعيد مع الجميع، بسبب الطريقة التي يتدربون بها، كان فرينكي دي يونج أيضًا يشعر بعدم الراحة”.

وأوضح تشافي رأيه في تقنية الفار: “تقنية الفار صعبة، ذات يوم تفيدنا ولا تفيدنا في يوم آخر”.

وسُئل تشافي عن خط وسط برشلونة الذي شارك به كلاعب رفقة إنييستا وبوسكيتس وأتم: “نأمل أن يتفوق علينا الشباب، لن يكون ذلك بسبب الجودة، إنهم جيدون للغاية”.

1. Você tinha expectativa de que esse ano seria o da afirmação?
Eu tinha sim. Como falei, eu vim concentrado, planejando isso, ter um bom número de jogos, fazer uma boa temporada. No início do ano, tive uma lesão na pré-temporada, em que fiquei uns quatro jogos fora. Tirando esses, fui opção em todas as outras partidas. Foi um ano muito especial para mim, em que eu amadureci muito. Nos últimos anos, cresci muito profissionalmente, além de amadurecer. Soube das minhas limitações e procuro corrigi-las. Subi no Santos muito novo, e não sei se preparado ou não. Evolui, trabalhei com grandes atletas e acho que agora estou mais preparado para poder ir bem.

2. Você já marcou contra Flamengo e Fluminense neste Brasileirão. Poder ser o homem-clássico se voltar a ser decisivo no jogo deste sábado, no Maracanã?
Sim… estamos tendo bons resultados no clássico. Saindo com a vitória do Maracanã, seria especial para mim, ainda mais com gol. É trabalhar para fazer um bom jogo. Eu procuro fazer meu trabalho e dar meu melhor na partida. O gol é consequência, não posso ficar apavorado e desesperado para fazer o gol, porque aí que ele não sai mesmo. Se vier no clássico, será ainda mais especial. O Flamengo é um dos nossos maiores rivais. Estou aqui para ajudar o Botafogo a vencer o Flamengo. Espero que a gente consiga nesse clássico de agora.

3. E sobre a sua permanência. Você já deixou claro que o desejo é ficar no ano que vem… como andam as conversas com o Cruzeiro, dono de seus direitos?
Deixei para meu empresário (Hamilton Bernard) resolver lá. Ainda não falei com ele sobre isso. Acho que nesta próxima semana a gente conversa de novo e espero que esteja ocorrendo tudo bem sobre eu poder continuar aqui no Rio.

4. O Botafogo tem um novo encontro com o Arão. Como era a relação com ele ano passado? No último clássico, ele foi muito vaiado e acabou não indo bem…
O Arão era um amigo aqui. Mas agora não temos muito contato, só quando nos encontramos. Ele preferiu seguir a história dele, opção sua. Espero que siga assim, que contra o Bota ele não consiga jogar bem. Vamos fazer de tudo para anular ele e sairmos com a vitória. A saída foi opção dele, não sei o que houve na renovação dele, ou por fora. Mas que siga assim agora no jogo do Maracanã.

5. Qual jogador você mais tem como referência no futebol e porquê?
O Neymar. Até falo para ele quando converso que eu sou fã demais dele, admiro muito o trabalho que ele faz. No momento, dos que estão em atividade, me inspiro nele. Sem comparação comigo (risos), mas é um excelente jogador e as características dele me agradam e servem de espelho para poder crescer.

Liverpool are set to rival Leeds United for the signing of Udinese midfielder Rodrigo de Paul, acting as a big blow to the Whites’ hopes of securing a deal.

The Lowdown: Long-term Leeds target

Leeds were strongly linked with a move for the 26-year-old last summer, failing to bring him in on Deadline Day after pulling the plug on a deal.

The interest has not gone away, however, and it has been claimed by Football Insider that the Whites have been willing to make a club-record bid for the Argentine this summer, who is valued at £34.2m by Transfermarkt.

Meanwhile, former Leeds striker Noel Whelan has said this week they were ‘desperate’ to sign the 19-time capped Argentina international, adding more fuel to the fire.

The Latest: Liverpool emerge as potential suitor

Now, FC Inter News [via Sport Witness] report that Liverpool are in the race to snap up De Paul this summer, stating that their interest is ‘real’, among a host of other clubs.

The Reds are believed to have spoken to the player’s agent Mino Raiola ‘several times’, regarding a move to Anfield, with both Milan sides also interested.

The Verdict: Undoubted blow for Leeds

This could be a big setback for Leeds given how dead-set they seem on pursuing De Paul, with Liverpool a club with a huge amount of pull with Jurgen Klopp in charge, even despite their struggles this season.

The Reds also have one of the biggest wage bills in football (via The Liverpool Echo), suggesting they would be happy to offer the player an awful lot more than Andrea Radrizzani would.

The hope is that the lure of playing under fellow countryman Marcelo Bielsa could turn the midfielder’s head, however, as well as being more likely to be a guaranteed starter at Elland Road.

With eight goals and assists each in Serie A this season, and an average of 1.3 tackles and 0.5 interceptions per game, he could provide so much all-round quality in the middle of the park, helping Leeds find another level, but Liverpool’s interest being serious certainly feels like a worrying turning point.

O Conselho Deliberativo do São Paulo aprovou, em reunião nesta quarta-feira, o texto do novo estatuto do clube. A decisão foi por unanimidade. O resultado, no entanto, ainda não define a questão, já que para ser colocado em prática o documento ainda precisa passar por assembleia dos sócios, ainda sem data, mas com previsão para ocorrer nos primeiros dias de dezembro. Será necessária a aprovação de maioria simples para isso.

O aval do Conselho já vinha sendo costurado nos bastidores, a partir do momento em que conselheiros da oposição se mostraram favoráveis à aceitação do novo texto, que traz mudanças importantes para o regimento do São Paulo.

Entre as alterações, estão previstos o fim da reeleição do presidente, agora com mandato único de três anos; criação de um Conselho de Administração; profissionalização das diretorias, com fim dos vice-presidentes, cargos não remunerados; possibilidade de o presidente ser remunerado; e a mudança da eleição de abril para dezembro.

Se aprovadas, as mudanças valerão a partir de abril de 2017, quando o São Paulo escolherá o novo presidente. Propostas sobre temas mais complexos, como eleição direta com participação até de sócios-torcedores e separação da parte social e futebol do clube passarão por análise de um ano.

أكد إيهاب جلال المدير الفني لنادي بيراميدز، أن قرار اعتزال عبد الله السعيد لاعب الفريق، دوليًا في توقيت مناسب جدًا.

وقال جلال خلال تصريحات عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “قرار عبد الله السعيد باعتزاله الدولي قرار هائل وفي توقيت مناسب جدًا، ولكن لم أكن سعيد بهذا القرار”.

وأضاف: “طريقة لعب منتخب مصر لن تناسبه، ولكنه قادر على اللعب لمدة 4 سنوات مقبلة”.
